TN: 1970 Royal Oporto Vintage Port

Decant: 4 hours - Good red colour, solid but transparent centre and an orange coloured rim. Musty, dirty nose dominated by fermenting apples. Perhaps this is VA. Sweet, hollow entry but develops well in the mid-palate to fill the mouth with sweet raisins and golden sultanas. The aftertaste is hot, but the heat fades away to give a good long finish that is very pleasant. 86 points
