TN: 1970 Sandeman Vintage Port

Decant: 6 hours - Glowing in its intensity, but light in colour - perhaps the second palest of the evening's wines at the 1970 horizontal after the Niepoort, pale orange on the rim. A very flat nose showing nothing more than a bit of prune. Soft and gentle in the mouth with some tannins still showing. The fruit is present but is sharp, acidic and unripe. The aftertaste is also a little bitter, but the bitterness fades quickly to leave a long and gentle fruity aftertaste. 88 points
