Decant: 2½ hours - Light red in colour, with a burnt sienna and transparent centre. Unfortunately, having been just poured from a double decanted bottle, the nose was dominated by the alcohol. In the mouth this had a lovely silky texture, with flavours dominated by burnt toast and brown sugar. A bit of air releases more bitterness and raisins, leather and heat. A big aftertaste and a lovely long but gentle finish that reveals the heat in the wine. Drinking nicely, this was either a poor bottle or was badly affected by the short decanting time. 88 points
