TN: 1977 Taylor Vintage Port

Decant: 12 hours - Deep red in colour, but with a transparent centre; hot, red aniseed on the nose. Dusty entry, rich flavours but a brutal acidity. Restrained fruit, but lots of air brings out the flavours; flavours are very big, but still many years away from peak maturity. Some heat showing in the aftertaste, full of long and lovely flavours. An excellent wine, but one to keep in the cellar for another decade. 91 points
