Decant: 2½ hours - Double decanted for 2 hours and poured from magnum just before tasting. Only 1 case of magnums was bottled from a single pipe of production. This wine has never been released commercially but some cases have been sold through charity auctions. Pale red in colour, with orange on the rim and a light centre. Warm and mature on the nose; a touch of tobacco over an all spice infused redcurrant and juniper - a wine that can be sniffed for hours. Sweet and silky on entry, which slowly builds up to a mouthfilling crescendo. Slightly hollow on the immediate aftertaste but with a finish that lingers and grows into a beautiful marmelade finish. Fabulous flavours and development. This is a full-bodied and gently tannic wine with a perfect balance. Simply delicious. 93 points
