Decant: Just Opened - Beautiful glowing mahogany colour, touch of orange at the rim. Closed nose, but with coaxing a delicate scent of strawberry jam, flavoured with cloves. Initially in the mouth, this wine brings flavours of slightly burnt sugar and caramel, but the mid palate shows seville oranges and rich marmalade. The wine is sweet, but is well balanced by an acidic backbone and has a pleasant, thick texture. The aftertaste starts with a quick burn from the slightly too obvious alcohol, but this quickly settles into a decent length of burnt sugar and strongly orange, rich marmalade. Very pleasant. 88 points
