My first rosé of the year! Rosé for Portuguese but maybe not for every region of the world. This wine, from its colour could be easily classified a 2002 Burgundy. The colour was really showing what this rosé is about, concentration and extraction for a rosé. Do not serve it under 14 celcius, it needs to express all it has. Also I found it was better with food, it was perfect with a cheese and ham omelette.
Fresh nose with green apple and strawberry notes and some spicyness in the background. Mouth, a bit too acidic at the opening, was really better with time. Again a mix of green and red fruits providing nice acidity, well balanced and fresh, but do not look for that refreshing rosé as you can even feel a bit of tannins on the finish. For me this wine is the perfect compromise for the red wine when in the summer it is too hot for one and still you want to have a structured but fresh and easy drinking wine with your food. 15/20
Interesting fact for a Portuguese wine, it has a syntetic closure, they use Neo-Cork.
