TN: 2007 Dona Matilde Reserva

Post by Rune EG »

Bottle brought home after the FTLOP Harvest Tour 2010. Decanted 1.5 hrs. Dark red colour. A lot of fruit in the aroma, together with some oak and spices. Smooth, quite elegant. Medium body. Some bitterness towards the end (like crushed grape stones). Nice red wine, but I prefer the basic Dona Matilde 2008. 89 pts.

I was pretty impressed with their whole line up when we tried them at DOC restaurant that day. This is a producer to keep an eye on for sure :scholar:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Fully agree Andy!
Brought home six bottles from their line of wines. I have been through the basic 2008 Dona Matilde, the 2007 DM Reserva in addition to the 2007 DM vintage port, and they are all living up to the experience at the DOC restaurant.

I have one bottle 2008 DM Reserva and two more bottles of the basic 2008 DM left, and really look forward to drink them as well.
