Bottle purchased in a wine shop in Regua, Douro, September 2001.
Sceptical to this bottle, which is may be reason for leaving it untasted.
Dalva is more known for their tawnies / colheitas than for the vintage ports.
Have found no info about other tasting notes neither in FTLOP nor Cellartracker, or other places on Internet.
Tight wax capsule. Cork came out in one piece. Decanted 6 hrs. Light brown-red colour. Slightly oxidized, but still drinkable. Aroma of caramel, touch of wood, limited spirit. Rather sharp taste, caramel, more spirit than in the aroma, not so much fruit. Tart in a short aftertaste. On the border to be out of balance. 83 pts.

Re: 1983 Dalva Vintage
Hi Rune,
There's a reason why you don't find TNs on more VPs from that era of Dalva.
Actually, I did have a few bottles of 1905 and 1926 C. da Silva a decade ago.

Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
