1977 Gould Campbell Vintage Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

The color of this is very dark, with no signs of fading or bricking, and could easy pass off as being from the late 1980's or early 1990's. Very youthful nose full of plums and blueberries, only 24 hours later did some violets start creeping in the mix. Full of dense fruit and lots of dusty tannins on the palate, full bodied, with some cocoa and spices on a finish that lingers for a really long time. Over the course of 24 hours this became more expressive and I like it even better now than I did when I first tasted it some 8 hours after decanting it. This VP drinks beautifully right now but still has a very long life ahead of it.
