TN: 2005 Niepoort Redoma Reserva Branco

Post by Andy Velebil »

Decanted 3 1/2 hours with a nose full of peaches and apricot. Full bodied citrus, spices, with a touch of oak still poking through on the back palate. This is still very young and has a great life ahead of it. Roy aptly said this was more Mersault-like and I agree. A fantastic white from the Douro.

Probably my favorite white non-fortified wine that Dirk has ever produced. I know Dirk likes some of the newer vintages of this wine, but for me this is really showing beautifully and will reward further patience. I typically will only open one every year or two, from my original case.
