TN: 2009 C.V. Curriculum Vitae (van Zeller) Douro red

Decanted 2.5 hrs. Deep dark red with a tiny light rim. Fantastic aroma of red berries (strawberries?), minerals and a touch of oak. Medium body. Taste full of berries and also oak. Quite elegant. Tannins towards the end are may be a bit too much. Relatively dry. Medium length aftertaste. The 2009 Vale D. Maria is better at this stage, so C.V., that is their top wine, should be cellared for some time. But by all means, it is a very nice wine, and I am sure it will benefit with a few more years untouched. 92 pts.
