1983 Graham Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 13½ hours double decanted - Red in colour, paling slightly on the rim; 60% opaque. Floury raspberries on the nose, with dusty tones - like the morning dew on fresh picked blackberries. Soft in texture, but with a sharply focused acidity that draws a hint of sweetness onto the tongue. The flavours are dominated by dusty tayberries, sweetened with brown sugar. Almost no tannins are present until they make a brief appearance on the aftertaste - which quickly fades to leave a long but subdued juniper aftertaste. A port which is drinking perfectly now, and one which benefitted greatly from being allowed to sit in the glass for 2-3 hours after being poured. 88 points
