1972 Quinta do Mourao Colheita Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 30 minutes - Removed from cask about 30 minutes prior to drinking. Mid brown colour, with a good rim; 30% opaque. Strong and well developed nose that is classically colheita with a slight hint of VA adding some complexity. Sweet and concentrated entry. Intense flavours with a touch of brown sugar and masses of marmalade. There is also a nice streak of acidity. The aftertaste is of concentrated lime marmalade and brings a very long finish. This is used as the base wine for the San Leonardo 30 year old tawny. NR points
