1963 Taylor Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 6 hours - Deep orange colour, rose on the rim; 30% opaque and slightly cloudy. Sharp nose, aggressive and woody - full of pine needles. Sharp entry, thick texture that is dominated by strong acidity. Fruit is sharp and sour, but mouthfilling. Hot acidity, but work can bring out some sweetness. Lovely long aftertaste of cedar and dried cranberry. Drying out a little, not veryu pleasant. Declined in the glass over the evening. Served blind, and guessed to be the Taylor. 85 points
