Decant: Not Known - 95% opaque. Closed on the nose although lots of work with the glass delivers some smells of fresh fruit. Slight hollowness on entry, with big tannins and modest levels of very perfumed fruit - the tannins dominating. The aftertaste is big and chewy and is followed by an enormous finish that is full of fruit. The finish is brilliant but the balance of the wine is wrong and it may be that the 2000 vintage is now shutting down. 91 points
