1963 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port

Post by Lars »

In neck fill. Grants of St. James’s bottling. This is a tawny in disguise. Although there are some pleasant nutty and raisiny flavors, the fruit has gone and it does not have enough substance, delicacy or complexity to really draw any serious attention. Spirity finish. 89p

I've recently seen a lot of bottle variation in this Port with bottles either as you describe or some which are still holding their fruit. Doesn't matter the fill level or condition of the bottle, as even well stored bottles show either way.
