this week i found a botlle of Ferreiro superior tawny on a auction, as a port lover i bought it for just €40 :), a handwritten label hanging on the neck says that it was bouht in the summer of 1966, its a tawny, so it must be from around 1963 or earlier, the label on the backside is bilingual german/englisch, possible bottled for the german market.
paper seal and leadcap are intact, no lost of content, on the shoulder a glass seal with AAF, i cant find a simular bottle one on the web sofar to be shure about the date, i need some help from an expert for this quest, thanks in forward, henry, Nijmegen the Netherlands

Can you post more pictures? That seal (selo) isn't much to go on.

From what I can tell it appears to be a basic Tawny Port, typical current retail being about $15 (USD) or less. You've paid a fair sum for given the type of Port it is so I hope it still shows decent. However, these types of Ports are not meant to age that long in bottle.

Can you post a pic of the small label on the top of the "shoulder" part of the bottle. And a pic of the back label too. That should give us a lot more to go on, I hope.

Very interesting! I think that Andy was spot on with his assessment of this being a basic tawny that was meant for relatively early consumption (not meant for long-term aging.) nevertheless, I do hope you enjoy it and please post a tasting note with your impressions once you open it.
