This is the top level of the Prats & Symington-partnership. I have tasted many of the vintages, and have not been too keen on the first vintages. This 2006 is a step up to a very nice level.
Decanted 2 hrs. Dark red colour with a light rim. Aroma full of berries, but very little oak, therefore not fully a typical Douro aroma. Aroma also influenced by something sweet and actually smoked meat. Very smooth, but also a bit powerful in the taste. A touch of oak towards the end. Full body. Medium length aftertaste. A very nice Douro red, but too pricy compared to other Douro reds which are even better. 91 pts.
