1963 Croft Vintage Port - (7/26/2012)
Oporto bottled, base neck, saturated cork. 8 hours in decanter. Rich and clear garnet color. Sweet buttery caramel and fruit candy nose, with a touch of fumey spirit. Similar palate, with a bit of dusty old steamer trunk and Christmas spice. Lovely bright cherry emerges through the spirity finish. Despite the alcohol, this is a lovely and pleasant Port, at a fine stage of maturity for drinking right now. (92 pts.)
