Drunk at the Acker BYOB at Domaine Chicago. Wow, what a phenomenal port! Tasted right after it was decanted and for 30 minutes afterwards. Several hours more would have yielded an even higher score, IMHO. The color was light red that was a touch murky because the bottle had not been handled well nor decanted properly (it wasn't my bottle). Palate of sweet plums and cherries, with a really interesting candy component on the palate and on the nose. I finally decided it was like eating a commercial chocolate covered cherry, with the gooey stuff inside. The palate was hot with alcohol that would have blown off in a couple of hours. The wine is fully mature but there's no hurry to drink up. Excellent! (95 pts.)
