Strongly recommended by Roy to purchase during our visit at Krohn in Gaia (2012 FTLOP Harvest Tour, but this Colheita was not part of the tasting at Krohn). Roy, you stated that we will thank you after having tasted this Colheita, which is hereby done!
Bottled 2012 (36 years). Decanted 3.5 hrs. Deep brown colour, but actually still a tiny hint of red when in decanter. Fantastic aroma in decanter full of a wide range of nuts, honey, some spices, wet wood. In the glass the alcohol was there, but with more air it disappeared. Full body. Smooth velvety taste full of nuts, figs, oranges, burnt sugar. A bit on the sweet side. Long, very pleasant finish. A colheita to remember (but please note the decanting time!). 95 pts.

Re: 1976 Krohn Colheita
Rune,
I am glad you bought a few AND liked it. As you well know, it is rare for such a young Colheita to have such developed flavors. It is not easy to find in the USA, and when it can be found it usually starts at $90 and goes up from there. Ex-cellars bottles are typically very freshly bottled and therefore with this particular Port, it is great to buy it @ the cellar door.

Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
