1967 Kopke Colheita Port

Post by Tom D. »

  • Medium-dark caramel color, yellow at the rim. This throws off a volatile blast of alcohol, but that doesn't mask the complex nose of wood, caramel, celery seed, and citrus peel. Very bold acidity on the palate, with a superb and elegant finish that lingers almost endlessly. Overall a bit light, with ample spirit and an acidic grip that wins out over the sweetness. Not a profile I usually love, but this was very pleasant sipping for its complexity. From a 375ml bottle, consumed over several days with little change. (92 pts.)
