1912 Taylor Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: Pop 'n' pour - Bottled by William Smith, Bishop's Stortford. Originally known to be 1912 vintage, but an unknown shipper. The cork revealed the shipper to be Taylor. Firm red-amber colour, 20% opaque. Bottle stink on the nose, smelling baked. Modest palate entry, very bitter and quite a light palate presence. Baked fruit on the aftertaste and finish. After an hour in the glass this developed a better concentration of flavour, but still with a disappointing bitterness and the baked tones becoming more pronounced. 88 points
