1983 Warre Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 1½ hours - Deep plum red in colour, Mature nose, full of strawberries and herbs, very attractive and developed. Modest entry, balanced, but slightly light-bodied. Soft and velvety texture, gentle sweet strawberry, and an unusual twist of straw. Lovely layering of flavours, patience really rewards with added complexity. Very soft tannins. Dusty cocoa chocolate on the aftertaste, then a long and hot finish, with plenty of black pepper and bite, but a long finish of dark chocolate and red jelly beans. Very tasty - a reliably good port. 89 points
