From a 750ml bottle, tasted blind at the FTLOP 1983 Retrospective.
Dark ruby color, nearly opaque with only slight fade at the time. Deep berry aroma on top of alcohol—cassis, blackberry, with bay leaf in the background. Berry continues into the mouth with plenty of tannin. Good finish of decent length. This has at least 20 years to go and may improve with integration and complexity during this time. 95 points. My wine of the night (out of 19 1983 VPs).
