Tasted 4 times over 3 days: 0 Hours (pop and pour): Dry dusty nose, jammy fruit yet a thin looking port--lighter color than most newer LBVs--more of a deep red than purple. A bit tart and on the pop and pour; was very spirity and quite acidic. 24 Hours: still piquant but the alcohol is not as noticeable. This is an odd one, simple and enjoyable, mainly because it looks and tastes thin, yet has full dark fruit flavor—tastes deeper than it presents. 48 Hours: Has mellowed out and improved quite a bit. Hint of clove coming out—after taste has lengthened and is now moderate. Pretty straight forward yet easy to drink. 72 Hours: The nose is dark fruits and hints of clove and is echoed when tasting with a touch of tar and cooked strawberry. My main observation is this improved everyday—I would have scored 86-87-88-89 per day so give some time after opening for best pleasure.
