This California rendition of port was created of a traditional blend of grape varieties sourced from Paso Robles. This wine was tasted initially after a 2 hour decant.
This wine was full of fruit in every way, black, blue and red berry fruits, as well as the brighter notes of some tree fruits. This wine also sported some limited pie spices to give some balance, but this is definitely a heavier sexier, younger drinking port, even though the tannin might suggest otherwise. This port held up well over 2 following days, shedding a bit of fruit and fat over that period, but not really changing character. If you're in the mood for a good fruity port, and can't find a Ruby Reserve, this will definitely not disappoint. 90 pts at its best.
