1994 Dow Vintage Port

Decant: 2½ hours - From magnum. Deep red, still with a touch of magenta; 99% opaque. Some alcohol showing on the nose with a touch of youthful sour cherry. Sour cherry leads on the palate, and there is a hint of violets on the mid-palate. This is still quite harsh and acidic, still unbalanced and clearly in need of more time; showing nice density of flavours but just so tight! Under the heat of the acid on the aftertaste is a dry, sour dark cherry and a great length. This is going to be a spectacular port. 92 points
