From day 2 of the 1985 horizontal, 24-25 Jan 2015, Holiday Inn Issaquah. All Ports were tasted blind. Unless otherwise noted, Ports were decanted for ~4 hours the morning of the tasting. The ones that I decanted received ~8 hours of decant overnight and were then stoppered for another ~6 hours until the tasting.
1985 Feist Vintage Port
Color: Medium red/tawny. For a VP it's starting to show age.
Nose: Faint caramel, light fruits, some aromatic spirit.
Palate: Tart. Sort of a caramel apple flavor. Nice but a bit strange for a vintage Port.
Score: 87 points. A pleasant drink, but a bit odd for a vintage Port. Flavor-wise it almost seemed like someone had tried to make a mixed drink that tastes like Port, rather than actually be a Port.
