I have posted a tasting note of his colheita port once before, May 2015. That was for a bottle that was bottled Christmas 2003. During a private visit to Portugal May this year I got another. Same year 1983, but bottled Christmas 2015. So in stead of being abt 21 years (gave it 89 pts), this one was 32 years and it got 93 pts.
Bottled Christmas Day 2015. Decanted 4.5 hrs. Colour was medium dark brown, but in spite of being 32 years old it still had a touch of red. Aroma full of citrus, herbs and tiny bits of bitterness (like dandelion) and spirit. Full body. Taste was elegant and powerful. Citrus, herbs, some oak, caramel and touch of minerals. A colheita with a strong character. Hints of bitterness at the end. Good balance acidity/sweetness 93 pts.
