This is the fourth of six bottles purchased autumn 2009. All four have been steady at 91-92 pts even though I continue to increase the decanting time. This Douro red is now over 11 years old and I am starting to doubt whether it will actually be better with further storage.
6 hrs decanting. Dark red colour with a light rim. Deep powerful aroma of a good mix of berries/oak/minerals. Medium to full body. Powerful taste, quite elegant, some fruit, a lot of oak and minerals. Quite dry, and some may describe it as rough. Medium to long aftertaste. 92 pts.

Better or not over time, I think it is the Niepoort Douro wine with the best aging potential of the line up.
