Vale Meao's top level of Douro red are amongst our favourites and we really enjoy them.
Decanted 3 hrs. Very dark red colour. Wonderful fresh, fruity aroma which also contains minerals, oak, all in a typical Vale Meao-style. Full body. Powerful, quite elegant, well-structured Douro red that includes this nice harmony of fruit/oak/minerals and actually a touch of leather. The acidity in the berries is giving the wine a nice freshness. Long aftertaste dominated by fruit. 93 pts.
