I decanted this 4 1/2 hours ago by the time of this note. When I first opened it, and for the first approximate 2 hours, this was lean, simple, and didn't show promise. Simply put I didn't like it at first. 4 hours in this had totally changed. As in no resemblance to the wine I opened 4 hours earlier. It had fantastic complexity, dark stone fruit, weight, balanced tannins to the fruit, and a lingering rememberable finish. I can't recall a Douro wine that has this big of a change in that time period. I have no experience with this wine but based on this bottle I'd say this should age for a long time and be better for it.
