TN: 2009 Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa Douro red
Unfiltered and foot trodden. Aged 20 months in French (85 %) and American (15 %) oak barrels. Decanted 7.5 hrs. Some fine sediments and I used a very fine filter to get out the last drops. Deep purple colour. Wonderful fruity aroma all the way from the opening, consisting of dark berries such as blackcurrant. Minerals in the background. Full body. Powerful and elegant. Wonderful combination of fruit/oak/minerals in perfect harmony. Towards the end som hints of raspberry. Very good balance acidity/sweetness. Medium to long aftertaste. An excellent bottle. 96 pts.
