Dark ruby color.Still looks quite young. Subtle black cherry nose, but quite a bit of new oak on this wine. Overall, the nose seems a bit stunted. The oak is not offensive, but it is substantial for those who are oak adverse.Big smooth entry. Tastes of strong black and sour cherries, cocoa. This is dense, but not a ponderous wine. Weighty. Mouthfilling. Long lime dominated finish. The acid really grows and grows. The finish is quite impressive. Some very fine tannins on the finish, but they aren't substantial. This wine is drinking well now. It shows no sign of falling apart. It's probably just before peak (peak in maybe 2 years). It might improve, but I doubt it. An excellent showing! Showed surprisingly well with Chile Verde Burritos(!) The wine stood up to the strongly flavored dish and the acid really worked well as a palate cleanser. 92 points.
