TN: 2017 Filipa Pato Post Quercus Baga (Bairrada)

Aroma had lots of spice with dark black fruit, along with grape stem and esteva; later there was black pepper, and a grilled/seared meaty aroma too. Then there was a berry, cherry, citrus combination. Then there was that meaty smoke of steak cooking again. In the mouth, this was medium bodied with lots of fresh juicy citric acid. The light tannins suggest this is not going for the long haul. Later there was a aroma like sandalwood and incense, and maybe even myrhh. I jumped around on score for this throughout the meal, but eventually decided while I liked one of the other wines a little more with the food, this one won out as my favorite because of all of the different aromas. 91 points.
