TN: 2007 Niepoort Batuta Douro red

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 6 hrs 45 min. Dark red with a light rim. Wonderful and well-composed aroma of berries, old cellar, minerals and oak. Full body. Powerful taste which was also smooth. Some tannins in the background. The fruit is keeping up. Well-structured and nice acidity/sweetness-balance. Some dryness towards the end. Medium length aftertaste. 93 pts.

I have quite a lot of this... so I guess it's time to open it up!

Me too. I should pull a couple bottles. Haven’t had it in some time.
