1985 Quinta do Noval Nacional VP

Lightest colored wine in the flight (with 1980 Fonseca, 1980 Noval Nacional, and 1985 Fonseca), with good clarity. The aroma is very light, with a little bit of mustiness and faint perfume. The flavors, like the aroma, are also very light and subtle. Medium-light bodied as well. But it manages to come through with a nice finish. 92 points.

Checking my notes, I tasted this a little over ten years earlier, and scored it ... 92! That was in a blind line-up.
