Hello,
I'm going to be out in SF (from the east coast) and will have a few hours to kill. Are there any great wine stores worth visiting in the city?
Thanks,
Marc

Marc,
Since your not buying or selling to others, I moved this to the Port Forum where more people will see it.

There are probably some great stores in San Francisco, but all I can tell you is that Vinfolio is NOT a store.
It's a pleasant walk from the Moscone center, though. :?

If you have a day or even just half, you could drive out to the town of Sonoma. The Rare Wine Co. is located there. It's not really set up for retail, but you can buy there. It's more a warehouse in an industrial park. Look on their web site at their inventory.

My usual stops are The Wine Club and K&L Wines.

Mark,
I highly recommend you check out this wine bar which although not new, is about as avant garde as any you've most likely seen. It offers over a hundred wines by the glass and sells wine by the bottle too. You'll love this place as long as you enjoy wines as well as just fortified wines. Good light/casual eats too!

Good stores in the area are The Wine Club, K&L Wines (SF and Redwood City), and Beltramos (Menlo Park). I visit all of them fairly frequently.
