Taylor 1960, 1963, and 1970 at European Wine Resource

Post by Eric Menchen »

I received an e-mail from Michael while :ftlop: was frozen. They had a case of each on sale. Here are the prices and what is left:
Taylor 1963 $224 each, 3 bottles
Taylor 1970 $138 each, 3 bottles
Taylor 1960 $140 each, 6 bottles
sales@europeanwineresource.com
http://www.EuropeanWineResource.com
These prices aren't listed on their website. E-mail or call (510.234.EURO (3876)) and tell him you saw this on FTLOP.
I don't work for EWR, but am a satisfied customer.

I know Michael for several years now, since he and his father started the biz. Their regular prices are typically on the high side unless you look hard at their list. But the provenance is typically flawless. Kudos to Mike for offering these prices which all seem quite fair for today's market. I had the Taylor 1963 again last night and it just about never disappoints and I remember not long ago when it was impossible to buy this for under $300 at retail, although auction houses you could find it for less.

At a Port event here in Atlanta last night, a sommellier mentioned that he had recently seen the 1963 Nacional going for $800 per bottle. I told him at that price, I'd take a case of it. We'll see if he can still locate it. :drunk:

I've bought a few bottles from EWR and had a positive experience. Certainly get some odd ball and hard to find stuff, as well as an extensive wine list.
