2000 Croft Vintage Port

Post by Glenn E. »

Tasted 6/9/2009 at McCarthy & Schiering in Seattle
TFP Vintage Port tasting with special guest Robert Bower

2000 Croft Vintage Port
Deep red approaching garnet in the glass. A little hot in the mouth, but also initially a sweeter impression than the 2007 cask samples. There's a faint minty note in the mouth and very early in the finish, but I can't identify it.

I thought this was showing exceptionally well that night. It was one of my wines of the night.

Would it be a crime to pop one of these now? I have a couple of these, but have not pulled the trigger because of the vintage prowess.
