2002 Vista Alegre LBV Port

Richly fruited. Nice density and quite approachable. Dark ripe plums, spice and violets. Good structure for further evolution. (90)

It is nice when you find an LBV like this which shows so nicely, especially from what's considered a mediocre year at best. It is my daughter's birth year and it is so tough to find anything worthy to put in the cellar for her from 2002. I wind up buying big bottles of Quilceda Creek, Latour, Geyserville and Insignia instead of Port. Waiting for Vargellas to hit the market some day ... maybe 3 more years.

How about some German Rieslings? Those will certainly age.

Agreed... The only reason I even had a bottle was because it was given as a gift when we visited the estate on your 2007 Harvest Tour.
