2000 Taylor Fladgate LBV Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

I put this one aside to see how it would do with a little extra aging in bottle. I forgot about this until yesterday when I was doing a major cellar reorganization and found it in a box of mixed Ports. Figured now was a good as time as any to crack it open. Initally quite hot on the nose a palate which as really tamed itself down after being open 24 hours. This still has plenty of blueberries, lavender, and licorise at the fore-front. Plenty of tannins still here to dry things out on a slightly clipped finish. There is a very slight, yet noticeable, couch medicine note that crops up on the finish as well. I don't see this getting any better with time, but it is in a nice drinking spot right now that should hold for a couple of more years.
