2000 Dow's LBV Port
Bottled in 2006. 1st night: Dark and brooding, opaque purple in color. Hint of plums, beef stock, and anise on the nose. Powerful black fruit on the attack, followed by some very stiff tannins on the finish. Let's see how this Senhora Bomfim monster evolves. 2nd night: Reticent nose with only a hint of blackberry and briar. This is a huge port with massive concentration, but has a bit too much fire in the belly. 5th night: This has morphed into a smooth and grapey LBV with waves of fruit. My wife thinks it tastes like cough syrup. It does have alot of fire still. I'll give it 90 pts.

Re: 2000 Dow's LBV
Kurt,
Thanks for the extended TN on this LBV. The "fire in the belly" comment is something I've also noticed with these LBV's, more so on day one that later subsides as it gets some air time.
