From The Wine Club - I believe that this is the lowest price in the US for these two wines:
The last time we offered the 2006 Niepoort Vertente Red (WS93), we sold all we could and it went quick. This is your chance at their original red wine with a little bottle age to boot! Also a chance to taste their excellent dry white wine - possibly Portugal's finest!
2004 Niepoort Redoma Red
Douro, Portugal
93pts Wine Spectator
$27.99
The Redoma Tinto is Niepoort's original dry red. It has great structure, with fine tannins, spicy and balsamic aromas. Redoma is produced from 60 year old vineyards, mainly north facing ones, where different varieties are planted together as is the tradition in the Douro. The blend is made up of Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Fransisca e Sousão, and others. A great opportunity to taste it with a little bottle age!
Kim Marcus: (Wine Spectator): "Minerally, with a ripe, spicy aroma and loads of kirsch, dark plum and dark chocolate flavors. Silky tannins, with a bursting creaminess midpalate. Drink now through 2012. 1,525 cases made."

2006 Niepoort Redoma Reserva Branco (White)
Douro, Portugal
92pts Wine Advocate
$25.99
The vineyards for the Redoma Branco (white) are all at an altitude between 1,300 to 2,600 feet. This provides the necessary cooler growing conditions (particularly at night) and longer ripening times required for making a serious white wine. The vineyards have vines which are over 60 years old which are planted of Rabigato, Codega, Donzelinho, Viosinho, Arinto and other varieties. The juice ferments in French oak, for natural fermentation then is aged in casks, on its lees, without stirring, for 9 months without malolactic fermentation. It is extremely fresh and elegant, with great complexity. Niepoort's nod to white Burgundy!
Mark Squires (Wine Advocate): "The Redoma Branco Reserva is quite possibly Portugal’s most distinguished white wine in many years. Its fat bottle signals the nod to Burgundy. The 2006 Redoma Branco Reserva is more forward than the ’05, and is showing relatively well at an age when the ’05 did not. There is a touch of oak on opening, resolving into a bright and gripping wine. I’m not sure this will be as age-worthy as the brilliant 2005 as it opens completely far faster, but it is intense, with a lingering finish. It seems deep and full bodied. In the context of the vintage, it is a fine achievement. Drink now-2012."

Re: Niepoort Offer
I have no idea why either critic believes the drinking window ends at 2012 for the 2006 Niepoort Redoma Branco Reserva. Seems a bit short sighted, and I understand in context of the upcoming 2007 and 2008 versions that we tasted earlier this month (or looking back at the impenetrable, slightly oaky 2005) but come on ... six years for the Reserva?
Folks, I hope you jump on this offering of two fine Douro wines ... early ... as it won't last!
This will sell out quickly unless it is a closeout, in which case they may have a larger allocation. Personally, I doubt that is the case -- the large allocation part.![Huh? [shrug.gif]](./images/smilies/shrug.gif)
Thanks to David for sharing this with all of you!![Toast [cheers.gif]](./images/smilies/cheers.gif)
