Re: Any other lovers of **Francesinha** out there?
I just returned from an intense work-related, yet very enjoyable, trip to Lisbon and was able to taste some fantastic wines and food. One evening after work I was returning to my apartment from the Pombal Metro Stop and spotted what seemed to be an interesting, yet somewhat bizarre restaurant. Being...

Re: Any other lovers of **Francesinha** out there?
I also am rather fond of Francesinha and can attest that the "upscale" version at the Café Majestic is memorable indeed. I have a modest collection of cookbooks on Portuguese cuisine in several languages (Portuguese, French, and English) and most of the recipes for the sauce - which is an ...

Re: Decisions, decisions
Yes - a difficult decision indeed! Are you planning on serving this with a particular dish or course? Nonetheless, my vote would be for the Crasto Touriga Nacional. I had a bottle of Quinta Vale Meao about a month ago of the same vintage and I was underwhelmed after having saved it for a few years. ...

Re: 2001 Krohn LBV Port
Krohn is one of my favorite producers, however I never seem to be able to locate them outside of Portugal. Does anybody know who the importer or distr. is for their wines in the US? I'm in the midwest not far from Chicagoland and the bigger stores like Sam's or Binny's do not carry any of their port...

2006 Lurton Barco Negro
Greetings: I'm estatic that I found this forum, since 90% of my wine purchases tend to be Portuguese table wines. Although I live in the US, I have spent a good deal of my life living in both Brazil and have visited Portugal regularly over the past decade. Due to my job, I will have the fortunate op...

Re: TN: 2006 Quinta do Crasto Riserva Old Vines
I had a similar experience with this wine as I bought a few half bottles since I really enjoy this producer. Shortly after opening the wine, it had a beautiful color and tasted smooth and silky. Yet, as time and the meal progressed, it became increasingly alcoholic. I won't say that I'm underwhelmed...

Lisboa and Wineries
Bom Dia: I will be spending two weeks near the end of June and early July in Lisbon for work and was thinking of trying to visit a winery on a Saturday or perhaps even a weekday depending on my schedule. I have been to Lisbon and Portugal many times and was wondering if anybody had any ideas of a wi...
