Very dark with lots of young fruit and amazing depth. A long fruity finish showed how well this is aging. Anyone who says this vintage of Warre's has peaked or past its best is wrong as this bottle shows.

Re: 1970 Warre's Vintage Port
Hi Andy,
How long of a decant time would you recommend? I see from a subsequent note that Al B. gave it 9 hours. I'm going to open a bottle from a 4-bottle lot that I just acquired and want to give it the best chance of showing well.
Thanks!

The last few times I had this vintage, I'd put it just below the other big names. Low 90's sounds about right. I have a magnum of this I've been anxious to open for a few years, but there's no port drinkers around my area... ![Help! [help.gif]](./images/smilies/help.gif)

I don't recall how long it had on this bottle but normally I'd go with 6-8 hours. I find that Warres does better with a slightly longer decant than other VP's of similar age/quality.John Danza wrote:Hi Andy,

Thanks Andy. I'll report back after I open one up, which I think will be this weekend.
