My grandfather had a wine store and after his death my father received some expensiv ones for his privat wine cellar. Now the port stand about 2 years in the wine cellar cool and dark. I am not a wine specialist so I can't give you more special informations about. Only it was bottled 0,75l in 1970 from Barros,Almeida & C. and it's in a wooden box.
If you give me your mail adress I can send you some pictures if it's helpful.

Sounds like you have a type of Port known as a Colheita - where wine from a single vineyard (known as a Quinta in Portugal) is left to mature in a barrel for many years before bottling - unlike Vintage Ports, which are bottled within a couple of years of production.
As a collector, I would pay about £100 (150 euros) for the bottle - others might value it more highly..
I notice you have a German email address - whereabouts are you?

Dear Tom,
Sorry for my long silence, but I was on a business trip without any possibilities to go online.
You would pay about 150,00 euros for this bottle.
I informed me about this portwine. So it is really more worth, after the good condition of the bottle and the correct storage.
Pls find enclosed pictures and the level of the wine inside. (in the neck)
After all facts my minimum is 230 euros.
I am from Nürnberg in bavaria, germany.
This link show you some details about the Quinta S. Luiz

Pls. send me a short feedback.
Thanks & best rgds,
Tobias

I thend to agree with Tom, this bottle is more about curiosity then pleasure. This porducer/Quinta has never been reknown for the quality of its port and its hability to stand time.
Also you'll find it difficult to sell it to an individual as for the time it takes to sell on auction, I don't think it worths it.
