Bento Amaral of the IVDP and Andre Ribeirinho of Adegga at Portwineday. Two great voices for Port wine!
What would life be like in the Douro without this train?
I brought this bottle back to its homeland to share with FTLOP's excellent blogger, Fernando Correia during a recent lunch.
Fajã Dos PadresLocated on the south side of the island, you will never forget this ride, up or down to one of the world's greatest vineyards. You can see the new gondola way down the cable. A ride that will live on in your memory forever!

Do I really need 3 sets of tenazes, (Port tongs) no, not really, as I can only use one at a time. However, these are used often in my home and during my Port presentations around North America.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:Two outstanding Douro wines by QUINTA de la ROSA; their 2011 and 2012 Reserva bottlings. If you can still find the 2004 and/or 2005 versions, you will be very fortunate. These younger versions shown here are worthy of your cellar space!
The women from one of our recent Port Harvest Tours step into the lagar and prepare for treading at DR Ports.
While visiting Wine & Soul during the harvest, SANDRA TAVARES (in blue on the left side of photo) took time out to provide great details about the terroir and old-vine field blends in their vineyards. What a great afternoon into evening. Charming, brilliant and talented. Quite the combination!
BULAS produces a stunning array of Douro wines and very impressive Port wines too. Their wonderful new visitor's center is a great place to visit and experience these gems.
TAYLOR's 1966 Single Harvest Port
A great tasting, can you tell what it is we are about to start evaluating here?
Dow's 1970 Vintage Port, consumed on the Douro.
In June 2013, when I spent three full weeks tasting nearly 70 bottles of 2011 Vintage Ports, (at least 6 times per bottle over 3-4 days each) before they were ever released, this was in my TOP 10 list of the best. ALVES de SOUSA 2011 Vintage Port. It just keeps getting better and better!
Quite a handful: A Golden White and several older Colheitas.
The excellent Portuguese wine selection at Esquin's Wine Shop in Seattle.
